Aspartame -- which consists of two synthetic amino acids, phenylalanine (50%) and aspartic
acid (40 %) bound in methanol (10%) -- is an artificial sweetener that is in diet sodas and other soft drinks, instant breakfasts, breath mints, cereals, sugar-free chewing gum, cocoa mixes, frozen desserts, gelatine desserts, juices, laxitives, multivitamins, milk drinks, pharmaceutical drugs and supplements, shake mixes, tabletop sweeteners, teas, instant coffees, topping mixes, wine coolers, yoghurt.

Aspartame is addictive. People often find it difficult to stop consuming the products that contain aspartame.

Some brands of aspartame are NutraSweet, Equal, Spoonful, Equal-Measure.

Consequences include blindness, death, dizziness, seizures, nausea, numbness, muscle spasms, weight gain, rashes, fatigue,irritability, tachycardia (abnormally rapid heart rate), insomnia, vision problems, hearing loss, heart palpitations, breathing difficulties, anxiety attacks, slurred speech, loss of taste, tinnitus, vertigo, memory loss, joint pain, brain tumours, brain lesions, headaches, mood swings, skin polyps, insomnia, depression, suppression of intelligence. (AKA "Aspartame Disease"

Symptoms of multiple sclerosis, chronic fatigue, rheumatoid arthritis, depression and other mood disorders have vanished in many patients after they stopped aspartame consumption.

Aspartame has been the subject of 75% of the complaints reported to the Adverse Reaction Monitoring system of the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

92% of independent studies on aspartame revealed safety problems.

In an article published in the Journal of Neuropathology and Experimental Neurology, John W. Olney, MD, of the Washington University Medical School in St. Louis, says that animal
studies reveal high levels of brain tumours in aspartame-fed rats.

Dispite the overwhelming evidence against aspartame, Donald Rumsfeld used his incredible pull with Washington D.C. insiders to get aspartame approved by the FDA.
